Big weekend at the Hartman house. Caroline took her first steps! Two steps to me yesterday, and couple since then. Not sure she realized what she did though, except that all of a sudden Mom and Dad started cheering!
Her favorite place to hang out is her little corner by the fireplace in our living room. She plays in this corner all the time. Tries to sit on the shelves too.
This is her favorite position, sitting on the ledge by her toys. This is location was aptly named 'the poop corner' by Luke because this is where Caroline always goes when she needs to make a dirty diaper. Every morning after breakfast, she crawls over there to play with her toys and do her business. Martha says we should put a potty there to potty train her!
While Caroline took her first steps this weekend, its taken her a long time to get here. She loves crawling FAST, and I'm in no hurry to see that disappear. She's more interested in moving vertically than horizontally. She is a climber. She will want me to hold her, but it is only because my lap can help propel her to higher elevations. Her other accomplishment this weekend was figuring out how to get up on the ottoman all by herself. It was too high for her until she mastered it yesterday. Then she realized the whole new world that was opened up before her!!
Luke was never a climber, so this is something new for us.
I think she is also transitioning to one nap a day and possibly going through a growth spurt. She's eating a lot. She LOVES to eat an egg for breakfast. I cook it up like a little omelet with cheese, and she eats the whole thing. Unlike her brother, she also really likes pasta with red sauce, like lasagna and ravioli. And avocado, clementines, and cheese. Those are her favorites!
